Melina Džajić-Valjevac holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and leads the Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention Department at Enova.
With over 20 years of experience in research and consultancy, she specializes in environmental protection, sustainable water resource management, and pollution prevention, including industrial pollution, chemicals, waste, air pollution, and greenhouse gases.
She has extensive experience in institutional development and capacity-building interventions at local, national, and regional levels.
Her expertise includes conducting wastewater monitoring studies, preparing technical reports on wastewater discharge, and leading Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs).
As a specialist in laboratory analysis, she has worked extensively on water quality, soil, river sediment, and solid waste testing, using both basic and advanced analytical techniques. In her role as a technical manager of the water and soil testing laboratory, she has focused on systematic wastewater quality monitoring, pollution load assessments, and solid waste characterization.
An expert in national and European legislation related to industrial emissions, pollution prevention, and chemical management, Melina provides consultancy to industries on environmental compliance and has contributed to key strategic documents supporting national alignment with international environmental conventions.
